About Fuelie

Fuelie was designed to make fuel better and easier to distribute and manage.

Tier 4 diesel powered equipment is amazing, but expensive technology. Manufacturers estimate bad fuel is responsible for 50% of diesel engine repairs. Tier 4 standards and ULSD fuel make the problem worse.

Having equipment down for repairs destroys profits. Fuelie believes that fuel quality should be your last concern.

Fuelie was created to make a smart, mobile fuel logistics system to aerospace standards.

It’s a system that not only maintains fuel purity but creates a digital fingerprint of it. Fuelie assures your critical equipment only ever sees Pure Clean Diesel. A verifiable fact.

Our goal is fuel distribution control that eliminates jobsite fuel quality and supply issues.

Five years of research and development has allowed us to offer this transformative new fuel logistics system. The Fuelie System.

Fuelie is Pure Clean Diesel fuel that is smart, mobile, and efficient. More reliable equipment means more reliable profits.

At Fuelie, we obsess over the quality of our equipment because it determines the quality of your fuel.

Why Fuelie?

Diesel Fuel Quality:  The Ugly Truth

US fuel distribution is a 100 year old legacy system. It is stretched to its limit by modern engine technology. No matter what the advertising says, it is like swamp water being pumped into a starship.  Your high tech Tier 4 engine is not getting pure clean fuel.  Gas station diesel fuel is like pond water.  You can drink it, but at some point, it’s going to make you sick.  Just like your engines.

Sandblasted Fuel Injectors

Irrelevant of where you are getting your diesel fuel, you are damaging your direct injected diesel engines.  No fuel distributor or gas station is filtering fuel to < 4 micron levels. A significant percentage of those unfiltered particles are sandblasting your injectors, fuel pumps, valves, and cylinder walls every second it’s running. OEM fuel filters are incapable of efficient single pass < 4 micron filtration.

Tier 4 compliant engines make the problem worse. The injector rail runs at pressures up to 40,000 psi. This is double the 20,000 psi of a .45 caliber bullet when fired.

Diesel Loves Water

The Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel available today is good for the environment, but bad for engines. Eliminating the sulfur destroyed diesel’s native ability to lubricate. It is also hydroscopic. Adding in bio diesel makes ULSD a sponge.

Each daily temperature cycle makes your tank breathe. With each breath, it is drawing in dirt and fungus spores. Every tank along the path to your engine is breathing.  Fungus loves to grow in ULSD contaminated with water and dirt.

The sad fact is that the problem starts at the fuel terminal. The fuel will check out with an assay for purity, but once it’s transferred to the tanker, it’s the wild west. Contaminants immediately start getting in the fuel.  Every step from there it gets worse. The longer it takes to get to your equipment, the dirtier and more polluted the fuel.

Cladosporium Fungus

Storage tanks collect garbage like a horder’s garage. Rust, paint, dirt, and Cladosporium fungus blooms and grows in the fuel to water boundary layer, and then there’s more dirt.

Get samples from the bottom of the tank of your favorite gas station. You won’t like what you see. That fuel is clean by comparison to most jobsite skid tanks. The diesel you’re putting in your expensive equipment is contaminated.

ULSD fuel is like fresh fish. It spoils fast. A good fuel truck can help this problem immensely, but ULSD needs to be perfectly maintained when transported and stored, or you are back to drinking pond water.

The Solution to Bad Diesel Fuel

Once a sponge is wet, you can’t get it dry in a moment. ULSD holds onto water. You get it dry by keeping the water out in the first place. Then it needs to be regularly polished to remove the garbage and residual water until you need it.

This is the solution. Smart, automated fuel maintenance starting at storage and continuing all the way to your tank.

The Tier 4 engine manufacturers are working hard on this problem. Solving it requires more than just adding more filters.  Fuel must be pure and clean before it is pumped into your equipment. The original equipment filters should be the last line of defense and not the first.

That is why the Fuelie system was created. To maintain fuel to a high level of purity and cleanliness all the time. Monitor and maintain it all the time.  Not just the moment it is pumped into your fuel injectors.

Additionally, your fuel should have an archived digital fingerprint as Pure Clean Diesel. If it is not Pure Clean Diesel, it shouldn’t be pumped into your equipment.

Fuelie is Pure Clean Diesel. Every tank. Every time.

Technical Note: If you think you’re immune because of biocides or 2 micron replacement filters, think again; biocides only reduce organic growth and the most damaging particles to any modern diesel engine are in the 2 to 4 micron range.  That 2 micron replacement filter is over working your fuel pumps, starving your engine, and heading toward costly engine repairs.  A good 2 micron filter has a single pass filtration Beta of only around 6.  This means almost 20% of all particles larger than 2 microns are bypassing your filter. Fuelie filtration has a single pass filtration Beta of 200 at 1 micron. Fuelie is not a single pass system. Fuelie automation is monitoring, testing, and polishing your fuel on an ongoing basis through a patent pending multi-stage multi-pass system.
